“I was first drawn to Echo Books in 2018 when I saw the quality of the look and feel of a book by (Dr) Kristen Alexander, another historian writing about the Second World War. This book did not appear to be self-published; the quality of the paper, internal design, and, most of all, the cover design. 

Working with my images and some ideas, Echo designed a cover for my book Shooting Through, with which I am delighted. I work in public libraries, and I find that often a self-published book screams that it is self-published. Still, in order to attract readers (and book buyers) in libraries, and also buyers who visit shops (in-store and online sellers), a book needs to look professional. With a quality-looking product from Echo, I was also able to apply for, and secure, consignments in mainstream stores like Dymocks, Bookface, Harry Hartog, Maclean's (Newcastle) and Royal Historical Society Victoria and other outlets in Australia.

I value Echo also for the work we did together for the webpage on their site for my book. My publisher at Echo offered suggestions and acted promptly on my requests, and a pleasure to work with them. Published in 2019, Echo have continued to sell internationally, and I am excited to see my royalties trickling in still in 2025! I still can buy up quantities of my book for my home stash so that I can also sign and sell directly to buyers and for donations. Although I did not convert my book to an ebook, should I publish again with Echo, I will probably take that option too.
